The generation gap manifests in all kinds of ways and particularly when it comes to socialising between adults who were born several decades apart. While we might be teased about embarrassing our teenage children by dancing at a wedding and shaking a leg on the dance floor at a party, it doesn't mean to say that we will lose the urge to dance and let our hair down once in a while. We can do so when we're surrounded by people who are of roughly the same age (give or take the odd decade) and who remember the same music that was popular during their teens and twenties. Friends over fifty have a different set of priorities to those of other generations. There are shared interests in hobbies and pastimes that might not be attractive to younger men and women, and there are different outlooks on life generally. For example, views on politics and current affairs, and holiday destinations. There might be mutual desire to visit the theatre to see dramas and musicals that wasn't there when they were younger. The fun part is finding out what everyone likes doing now and choosing someone to go out with on your next excursion.
